Aurora
Aurora Aksnes (born June 15 1995, in Stavanger) is the name of a Norwegian artist and vocalist. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released through Decca Records Decca Records in May 2015 getting great reviews from music bloggers and the press. The artist has already recorded two highly-profile cover songs Half the World Away by the group Oasis for a Christmas advertisement from John Lewis and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole. Katy Perry shared a tweet where Perry announced her new song Runaway. It was her birthday. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was when she discovered a keyboard within her loft and being fascinated by its music. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents, May Britt Aksnes and Jan Oystein Aksnes, encouraged their daughter to take up music as a passion rather than a profession. She started writing songs of her own. In addition to Bjork She also cites Leonard Cohen as an influence. The singer decided to perform her songs publicly when her mother said they might help others not be famous with her music, but rather to help the people around them understand their importance and the ways they could impact the world. When she was six, she began to play the piano. At age nine, she, started writing songs. The family did not know about this until she was fourteen. Aurora did not have a set goal. Her sole passion is to compose music. Music is her most preferred way to feel anything.
